This 3 hour course is designed as an introduction to welding for beginners. Students will learn how arc welding works, how to safely use the flux welder, how to safely handle material that has been welded, two types of welds/joints, and how to use a bench grinder.
At the end of the class, students will complete the course with their own welded T to show off, as well as the skills and information needed to safely and competently pursue independent welding projects with a flux welder.
This will also certify the students on the flux welder at the Foundery, enabling members to work on solo projects without staff supervision.
Your instructor is Audrey Van de Castle. There are 8 available seats for this course based on a first come, first serve basis. The course cost will be $65, which includes a pre-class packet (sent out 24 hours prior to the class w/ additional instructions), 3 hours of training, and material costs.
